“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.” Shakespeare

I have become a trained monkey. This is my new role in life.

It is absurd what a parent will do to get their child to eat. OK, I won’t clump all of you into this. It is absurd what I, and I alone, will do to get my child to eat.

Brielle has been refusing her solid foods. She sits in her high chair, mouth clamped shut, and arms crossed. Well…she doesn’t cross her arms but she may as well. She is letting me know who is boss!

The only way she will eat is if I do the following…

Run around the room with her spoon pretending to be an airplane.

Hop on one foot while singing.

Do the can-can while singing.

Make a shocked face.

Spin around in circles.

She will only open her mouth if my performance is oscar worthy.

As Shakespeare said, we play many roles in our lifetime. I hope this role is short lived and my little lady becomes more willing to eat her solid foods.

In the mean time, I am getting an outstanding work out at 7am!
