A few nights ago I noticed that several of the girls’ toys were missing. I had no idea where they could have gone. We didn’t take them out of the house and so they had to be around somewhere.
I looked in every bin…they weren’t there.
I looked in all the closets…they weren’t there.
I looked in all the draws…they weren’t there.
Finally, I decided to retrace the girls’ steps from earlier that day. I got down on my hands and knees and crawled around the living room.
I crawled by the piano…no toys.
I crawled around the play yard…no toys.
I crawled by the couch…TOYS!
They were all stashed underneath the couch.
The next day I observed the girls and found the culprit. I watched as Alexis placed toy after toy underneath the couch.
This is how she does it. She grabs a toy, brings it over to the couch, looks around, and then shoves it underneath! She then crawls away like as if nothing happened.
Eventually she crawls back to the couch, looks around, grabs a toy and plays with it, and then returns it to its hiding place.
SHE IS A HOARDER!
Since she seems to be enjoying herself, I will pretend not notice all of the missing toys. This way she can continue playing her little hiding game.
